January 22, 2010 – Year 2 Studies the Circulatory System
Middle School, Year 2 has been learning about the heart, specifically about the path that blood flows on its journey through the body as well as the oxygenation of the blood. The class as a whole used this information to paint in a large size heart and blood vessels to illustrate the entire circulatory system. Students were able to choose the part of the project they worked on (painting, creating labels, making the lungs or creating a title and short description) and then worked in groups to accomplish the project. When finished students will create three dimensional blood cells to accompany the large scale heart. Additionally, students wrote narrative paragraphs on the theme of “Days of Our (Blood) Lives” to demonstrate their understanding of the elements and sequence of the circulatory system.
The Circulatory System project is hanging in the front hallway in the reception area. The next time you are at Aaron Academy, please stop by to admire the students wonderful work!

The point of hot debate around the Academy today: Who had more fun at the Winter Dance, students or staff?? Needless to say, the First Annual Aaron Academy Winter Dance was a HUGE success.
And because, as they say a picture tells a thousand words, here are some to enjoy.
